ABOUT OUR HOUSE
In 2022, Learnest CIC, with funding from Prosper Wakefield, hosted a series of workshops for local LGBTQ+ people, where the idea of an LGBTQ+ Centre for Wakefield was born. A team of volunteers have come together and continues to grow and develop Our House into what it is today.
On-site, we have a cafe serving delicious coffee, a gift shop serving queer books and gifts, and a large flexible events space that hosts our community groups, workshops and events.
Our House officially launched in March 2023, and we have welcomed over 2000 people through our doors. We are committed to building a safe, sober, inclusive and accessible space for local LGBTQ+ to socialise and connect.
Our house exists through the hard work of local people, ongoing partnerships across the VCSE sector, and the generous support of our funders.

A local peer support group for trans and non-binary people across the Wakefield region.

Last Thursday Of The Month 6:00-9:00PM
2BU Wakefield is a local LGBTQ support group for Adults with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism.

Coffee & Conversation
Last Thursday of the Month 10am-12pm
Drop in for a free coffee, casual conversation and friendly people. A laid-back space for everyone.

Our House is hosted by Learnest CIC, a trans-led non-profit supporting the LGBTQ+ community in several ways, including creating physical spaces for the LGBTQ+ to come together.
